Okay quality, great value – Pros: The 4K UHD picture quality is stunning. The colors are vibrant and the detail is crisp. The built-in Fire TV operating system is easy to use and comes with all of the popular streaming apps pre-installed, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. The TV has a lot of connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, and Ethernet ports. This makes it easy to connect all of my devices, such as my soundbar and gaming console. The TV comes with a voice-controlled remote, which makes it easy to search for content and control the TV without ever having to leave the couch. Cons: The TV does not have a built-in over-the-air (OTA) tuner, which means you cannot use it to watch local channels without an additional device, such as a cable box or antenna. The TV does not have the most advanced smart features, such as support for Apple HomeKit or Google Assistant. If you are looking for a TV with more advanced smart features, you may want to consider a different model. The TV does not have a very wide viewing angle, so the picture quality can appear distorted if you are not sitting directly in front of the screen. Overall, the Amazon Fire TV 43″ 4-Series 4K UHD smart TV is a great value for the price. If you are looking for a high-quality 4K TV with a built-in streaming system, this is a good option to consider.

HOW TO TURN OFF MOTION SMOOTHING – I was ready to throw this TV out the window because the confusing motion smoothing settings frustrated me to no end. Here’s the deal as far as I understand:

Great value when used as a non-smart TV – I had bad experiences with first-gen Fire sticks (mostly due to them being underpowered), so we’ve since migrated to Rokus. I didn’t bother trying to use the Fire functionality natively since maintaining the apps and such independently from the other Rokus would be a pain. Additionally, the lifetime of most TVs is significantly longer than the usefulness of whatever internet functionality they ship with (even the Rokus get absurdly slow after two years as new functionality is added), so planning on replacing $30 dongles makes more sense than chucking the whole TV.
