Basically useless – I strongly recommend that you do not buy this, the touch capability is extremely limited and does not extend to the edges of the screen, want to close a window, better get a mouse; need to access the start menu, plug in a keyboard. For all intents and purposes this is not a functional touchscreen. Also the video quality is mediocre and often lags and jumps. Furthermore there is no wireless card so I have to take the damn thing off the wall and move it to a router to update software or download anything. The system struggles with even basic tasks, and apparently not all the external ports are actually hooked up. Don’t waste your money on this lemon

A quality commercial display – For those who purchase displays for public consumption NEC isn’t a new name. I’ve pretty much purchased from all the major makers and I’m liking the way NEC put this unit together hardware and software wise. The software allows for good metrics and multiple configurations for startup along with a strong scheduler. I haven’t used the video wall software/hardware solution provided, but it seems well thought-out. The testing phase for this roll out of 50 units is just completing so I don’t have any input on the battle worthiness of this unit with kids and the curious, the warranty exudes confidence from NEC.

Great large format display – I purchased this as a regular monitor for my desktop computers (i.e. not for the purpose of digital signage, etc. that large format displays are typically intended for). I’ve found that my eyes get strain from staring at a small high-DPI screen all day long and decided to try a large-format display so my eyes are forced to look around to various areas on the screen and refocus often at various distances. So my purchase of this display was mainly motivated by wanting a physically large screen to help with my visual impairment. Since I sit relatively close to the screen (25-30 inches distant), and viewing some areas near the edges of the screen at large oblique angles, I specifically wanted an S-IPS panel. S-IPS panels offer large angles of view without much edge dimming or color artifacts in the picture. Also, I do a lot of photography and design work, and wanted an S-IPS panel also for its better color rendition.
