It works… Sort of – Have had intermittent issues with Xbox. Sometimes it’ll send both signals, sometimes it won’t, so, I guess a failure for my Xbox. The TV use is splitting DirecTV signal to a 4k TV and into Yamaha home theater receiver, using a projector for video. When it works, picture is great. Problem is that at various times, it decides to go black screen. Just drops signal inexplicably. Have tested all equipment without splitter, never a signal drop. Very disappointed.

Things I had not considered make this not quite the perfect solution – I’ve got a couple of TVs and one device that produces video content scenario. Basically I could buy/rent another tuner device, but all I really wanted was the ability to get video from downstairs to the upstairs, and I have a little device that does that. I’d been swapping HDMI cables between the wireless and the downstairs TV and decided I was pretty much done with cable swapping, why not get something that was one in and two out and yeah… that’s where this comes in.

This is a great item to have – I’ve tried a few different splitters that didn’t work. This one works marvelously! I used it to split from the cable box (HDMI cable) to the In, and then connected the out to my living room television and an out to my art studio. Now I can watch the same channel in the art room without an additional box. Excellent quality, easy to install, and it has worked great!

I had one prior that caused a lot of darkness and issues with automatically detecting when devices turned on and working well with the TV. This device is great in that it allows a primary device to pass through signals, and then a secondary device where it doesn’t do the HDMI communications with the TV. This allows you to keep full functionality with your primary device, and excellent picture quality while displaying on two different devices at once.
