Best purchase of the summer – We have this for just over a month and used it many times. LOVE IT! Very easy to set up, but the first time will take a bit as you will need to adjust the screen straps for tightness to remove the wrinkles. After setting up many times we can have this and the projector set up in less than 5 minutes with the two of us. The take down is really quick too! The bag that comes with it is really roomy. Right now we are storing the screen in the plastic pouch it came in, but I think long term I’ll make my own. This is needed to keep the screen clean. I also think the stakes need their own storage container.

One person can set up ! – I purchased this inflatable screen for an evening fall activity for the family. After inflating and using I am wondering why in the world I didn’t buy earlier for the summer too. The projectors and screens seem to be super popular right now. All my teens even put them on their Christmas lists! I guess I will cut myself a little break too because during the thick of summer we have a place that offers drive in movies on a huge screen. It’s almost 45 minutes away though and that’s a hard drive at night with sleepy little ones. I definitely plan on using this inflatable screen next summer instead of going that far. It will save me money and hassle! Anyway, so I wanted to see if I could inflate and set up this movie screen alone before asking for an extra hand. Good news, you can ! The directions were easy to follow and it’s only 3 steps. Take it out, clip on the screen and inflate. Laying out the screens frame is easy. There are clips or buckles located around the perimeter. The white screen has the receiving end of the buckle. I didn’t adjust the tightness until after it was completely set up. I don’t think it would be a good idea because it could strain your buckles and perhaps disturb your screen unnecessarily. Next, I ran an extension cord from my outlet because I don’t have a convenient outside receptacle. As soon as I plugged in the blower cord to the extension cord it began to inflate. If anyone has those fun Christmas inflatables, it’s the same type of thing. In a matter of minutes the screen was inflated. I helped it a little along the way and un-bunched some corners as it inflated. I think the air pressure would just pop them out but it only took a few seconds to do. The blower is in the screen frame and at the foot so it acts a an extra weight as well. Just make sure the blower can get to air when inflating. After it was inflated, I tightened any screen buckles that were lose before setting it upright. If you’d taller you could probably do most of them with the screen upright but again , I found it easier to work around the perimeter of the screen while it was on the ground. One person can easily tilt it up at this point. There are guide ropes and stakes in the package so I would use those. I almost feel like on a calm summer night they may not be necessary , it’s really going to depend on your weather and wind conditions. I used a rubber mallet and the stakes were easy to drive into the ground. It’s a very nice size and the material is durable. It even comes with patches should your frame have an accident. If it gets damp when using because often it will in the evening , I just let mine dry before packing it up. I was pleased with the blowers capacity and ability to continuously run with no issues. The blower motor is not loud and does not interfere with hearing a movie. It’s absolutely nothing like a generator. I personally wasn’t sure what to expect in that regard. As for storage, I bought a large 30 gallon tote. I honestly think you could get away with a smaller tote but I keep everything in mine including the rubber mallet (i bought an extra one to leave in the box) and a long extension cord so that’s just what I found to be the easiest. Its also handy because I don’t have to make multiple trips around the yard. I just take my tote out to my spot and literally everything is there. Oh and as far as storage goes, be sure to fold your screen white side in so it doesn’t get dirty. Of course if it does get dirty you can wipe it off with a wet clean cloth (personal experience).

Makes Outdoor Movie Night Better – We’ve done outdoor movie night a few times with a fold up screen and stand. It isn’t hard to put up, but it looks chintzy and it’s harder than this was. There is a little noise, but outside it is very nominal. It did not negatively impact the movie. It is pretty easy to set up, but you have to do it with it laying down, so you have to have enough room to maneuver, and then stand it up, which I did on my own, but is easier to do with a friend. The blower is easy to use (make sure you zip closed the foot where it attaches – I hadn’t seen the zipper and almost thought it was DOA), but getting the blower tied off to the tube coming out from the foot was a little cumbersome. You need to do it just right or the air leaks out. You are supposed to stake it down, which isn’t easy to do if you are not on grass or a surface to do that. We had to tie it to the fence, which we were able to do, but I can see where this could pose a problem for people. That’s probably the biggest negative. It is a good size, and it comes with a storage bag. It is big when stored, and there was no way I was going to be able to fold it as nicely as it was when it was packaged, but I appreciate that it has the bag (still trying to figure out where we’ll be storing it when not in use). I thought it would be fun to take to the lake for movies on the deck, but the size of the bag means hauling it back and forth will be a challenge, so we’ll have to do it only when we feel pretty confident we will use it. I’m sure we’ll get use out of it for movie nights, and since it is in a bag, it will be easily portable to take between houses.
