Low cost option – Was hoping this would hide behind my wall mounted TV but the signal is not good even on my screened in porch. When I moved it close the window the signal improved significantly. Makes it a bit of an eyesore to have but for $20 not to have to pay for cable, hard to complain…..

I have an OTA antenna outside but it is already split to 2 tv’s and I didn’t want to degrade the signal any further by splitting to another room and having to drill holes through the wall. So, I searched for and decided to purchase this antenna.

I’m pleasantly surprised – I did a lot of research on indoor antennas of all different price points. The consensus seemed to be that a more expensive antenna does not necessarily mean a better one. So I decided to give this one a try. Set up was easy, however the instructions make it seem like you have to use the amplifier. I’m about 27 miles from most towers so it made sense that the amplifier is needed. But when I set it up with the amplifier attached, I did not get any channels. I’m glad I decided to unhook the amplifier because without it I get 38 channels. A few of the channels are duplicates and many of them are channels that I’ll probably never watch. But the picture and sound on ever channel is great! I have most of the local channels which is why I got an antenna. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

The size is similar to that of most flat antennas. Yes, it includes a signal amplifier. Range is a bit exaggerated at 200 miles though. Transmitters in my area are 30-35 miles away from my home and I ended up receiving about half the available stations. This is on par with some other more expensive antennas I tried so for the price it performs decently.

After reading reviews and best of lists, I settled on this one to try first because of its lower price compared to some of the more expensive indoor antennas. It took several relocations to find the sweet spot which brought in the 4 major networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC). ABC and Fox are located due east of me while CBS and NBC are due west. I used to have trouble getting a solid picture for ABC/Fox with my roof antenna pointed at CBS/NBC. However, with this antenna they all come in solidly. I could get the local PBS but that is not surprising since it is a VHF channel (12.1) and you generally need longer elements to get VHF. My one disappointment is that I can’t get the local CW channel which is due West and about the same distance as the NBC tower which comes in very well. The furthest station (NBC) is 38 miles away. I truly doubt the 200 mile claim — unless the Earth is really flat.
