Was about to buy the apple TV Siri replacement remote until I saw this device – This remote control will replace the original apple remote that is broken or missing. The original replacement remote cost $60 and I was about to pull the trigger until i saw this remote for a fraction of the price of the original remote. This will do every basic things the original remote will do. Sure, it does not have volume control but my tv remote can take care of that. And it does not have siri voice assistant but I never use it on my original remote anyway. It is very lightweight and operates on 2 aaa battery. If you are looking for apple tv remote replacement. You can’t go wrong with this third party version.

Works…instantly! – I have an Apple TV 3rd generation that did not have a remote. I reset it and used my phone (the Apple Remote app in Control Panel) but that was hit or miss as a remote. I bought this and after getting it and putting in the batteries….BOOM! It worked right out of the box. No pairing. No waiting. No fuss. No muss. The Apple TV works great again. (I knew ahead of time it did not have Siri or volume controls so no worries there.)

It works – This worked right away as soon as I put batteries in it. I would have loved to seen options for volume and similar buttons to the Apple TV remote. But it worked for what I needed which was to connect it to the wifi so I can use my phone to control the Apple TV.

Low-cost, high value solution – The remote that came with my Apple TV has been problematic from the start. Though it’s sleek, a design flaw makes even the simplest of operations aggravating. Rather than using a button that clicks to make selections, it has a pad that you run your finger over — but I was always stopping short or overshooting the selection I wanted to make. This remote solves that — I can press buttons that take me, predictably, to the selection I want. Downsides: no volume control or on/off switch — but those operations have buttons on the old remote. In sum, this remote solved the problems with the old remote but doesn’t allow me to ditch the old remote altogether.

This remote did not control my Apple TV. It locked it up 2x, and would only move Left and right in the app, but would not “select” or scroll down into the menu. It will be returned, but again – None of this is the sellers fault, so I certainly won’t ruin their seller rating on a mistake I made.

Compatible with my AppleTv but no volume control. – This remote is great as a backup in case you forgot to charge your Appletv remote or misplaced it but in my opinion not as a replacement. It has basic controls but as many others mentioned here , the remote does not have a volume control ,Siri option or sleep but for the price you can’t expect all the same features as the original appletv remote . It’s awesome that it connects automatically and it’s able to control more than one appletv. The remote does feel a bit cheap in your hands and it feels like it wont survive a fall from the couch but I can’t say for sure since it hasn’t happened yet. I keep it safe in a drawer and only use it when I’m charging my appletv remote or when my kids misplace the remote. As others mentioned it beats spending $60+ for an original remote but in my opinion this remote is not considered a replacement if it’s missing volume control, Siri and sleep option.
