No Digital Tuner/Bad Remote Features – I purchased this RCA TV/DVD about two years ago and am very happy with it; however, I just purchased a second one about a week ago (using the same ordering info from my previous Amazon purchase two years ago) and this TV acts differently. Both TVs look the same physically, but have a couple of major differences. The first TV has a digital tuner and can receive HD channels without a cable box (using the coax only with a house with cable services) the new TV does not. After playing with it for a couple of days and trying a suggestion from another on buyer that didn’t pan out, I called RCA and gave them the model info. The tech said that I would need to buy a digital converter with HDMI box and then select HDMI from my input options and then I would be able to see HD channels. This box costs about $35 and is a piece of hardware to create clutter (the reason for having a DVD/TV combo. Another major flaw I find is the remote control functions. There is no button for enabling/disabling closed captions (have a hearing impaired wife) you have to go into the menu and in order to jump chapters on the DVD you have to go to the DVD menu and hit back or next and repeat until you get to the chapter you want. If you want to get to chapter 15, you would have to go into the menu 15 times. I just fast forward at 32X until I get to where I need to be. I love the first one, but things have changed and not for the better with this one. In summary, if you plan on hooking this up without a digital converter box or a cable box, be prepared to only view analog channels and the basic remote control is very lacking by today’s standards.

The price is right – I needed to replace my old Toshiba tv with vcr and dvd combo, because some tiny belt broke on the dvd player. For $250, the price is right for this.

BEST 32 Inch TV-DVD Combo. on the Market. Get it! – I have always enjoyed a TV/DVD player and needed a new one. I tried Super Sonic, Norcent, Westinghouse, Naxa, Sceptre – I tried all of them hopefully! They all had issues. The RCA is the only one I can recomend.. PIcture detail and aspect is perfect for watching films and easily changeable! So is Audio Sound! Best TV/DVD out there by far. Forget the naysayers. It was so easy to start (I found I did not need the stand as it sits upright on its own for which I added mini-cushion pads to move around easily). RCA covered everything. The remote is easy to read and use. I love the quick buttons for aspect (zoom or wide screen etc.), audio sound options, and quick color options. It could not be easier. I had issues with all other 32 or 24 inch combos I tried as either the audio sound was too low or tinny or picture not clear or true, or hard to use remotes. This one has it all. I recommend whole heartedly. Worth the added cost!

A Good Mid-Level TV – This TV is excellent for anyone not wanting to spend a lot of money. It is a good size for a bedroom or kitchen and has good reception for local channels. I am pleased with my purchase

So Far So Good – Haven’t had this one very long but it’s been great so far. Had the older model for over 10 years and still works great. Will have to wait to see if this one holds up. The only con for me is the fact the picture is faded when looking at the screen from a side angle. But that’s no biggie because I watch straight on.
