Perfect replacement remote – Works just like old remote

Works on receiver, not on tv – My old remote’s button wouldn’t work, so I hoped this one did. While it works the receiver perfectly, I can’t get it to sync with my Panasonic plasma tv. I’ve tried twice to get it to work. I noticed that this one has a number in the upper left corner, RC66RX. My old one is RC65RX. Is that why it’s not working?
