This wand is great once you program it. – This wand worked great. It took me about half an hour to really figure out how to get it in program mode but once I did, it worked great. I programmed the wand to my tv and roku box. Mistake #1, when I was trying to put it in programming mode by pressing the power button 3 times, the wand kept turning off when I pressed the button the 3rd time. The answer to that is you have to press the button quickly 3 times in a row then hold the button down on the 3rd push. I was giving it 3 reasonable pushes but they have to be quick pushes. Then the tip of the wand will turn green, then it will turn orange. When it turns orange do whatever gesture you want to use such as flick right. Once the gesture is recognized, the wand will flash green then go back orange and start pulsating. This is when you hold your tv remote close and press, for example, the power button and release quickly. Just click the power button don’t hold it down. When the wand receives the signal it will pulsate and light up green. Then it will flash orange. Press the power button one last time and this will complete your programming for a certain gesture. Just repeat these steps for each gesture. Just remember you only have 9 gestures so you can only control 9 functions on your remote. I programmed my wand for power and volume on the tv. Then I programmed the cursor buttons, home button, and ok button on my roku remote. I would suggest for tv’s, if you want to program gestures for your tv, use your tv only remote. Don’t use your directv remote, or any other cable box remote. Only use the cable box remote to program cable box functions. I’m giving this a 4 because I think if the instructions went a little bit more in depth with, for example, stressing that you need to do quick taps, It would have made the process of setting it up quicker and had a lot less frustrated customers who probably returned this awesome wand for nothing.

Fancier… but it’s just meh… – It’s hard to program the three press (holding the 3rd press) mostly hit or miss and the worst is either the wand will turn on or turn off if you do it. I had to make a 5 quick presses before doing the 2 press and 1 press+hold to enter programming mode.

Not as hard as others claim. Seriously. – First off, I get that at first, it may seem complicated to set this wand up, but once you figure out how to get it into “program mode” everything else is a breeze.

Stressing the IR remote – I got this gift for my boyfriend. For anyone who wants to use it on a Roku that uses radio frequency, like the Ultra or anything like that, you can buy Infrared Roku remotes on Amazon. It automatically connected to our Roku and we programmed it super easy after that!

It has potential – This is a really really terrible TV remote to be honest. It works slowly and inaccurately. So if you want to “magically” take 10 minutes to get to the program you want…. this technically can do that. Maybe.
