Surprisingly Effective – We bought this for a laptop without wifi we donated to needy students. Easy to install with nothing protruding to break or get in the way. Surprisingly effective. Made the laptop a much better donation for a very low cost.

What’s not to love? – This is a wonderful product, like all TP-Link products I own. It functions well, is supported on every OS I’ve used it with – even a machine currently running Windows XP. Because the price is so good, I always keep one or two spares around – it doesn’t pay not to.

A WiFi saver! – I love this little adapter. The WiFi card in my laptop has been acting up, disconnecting constantly, which was really frustrating when you’re trying to work. This little unobtrusive adapter has been a WiFi saver! I’m getting great speeds and it’s so small I don’t have to worry that I’m going to snag it and damage the usb port. My only concern, which is very small, is how hot it gets after a few hours of using it. It’s not burning hot, but it’s enough to say “wow that’s getting warm.” It does cool down when you’re not using the WiFi to access the internet. I don’t think it’ll be an issue in the short term, but I do worry that the heat will shorten the life of the adapter itself. The usb port remains cool, it’s just the translucent adapter itself where the green led is that gets hot. Hopefully it’s designed to withstand the amount of heat it’s producing. I just turn WiFi off on my laptop when I’m not using my computer so the adapter powers down and isn’t getting hot for no reason. Overall, I give this little adapter high marks!

Easy Solution To Get Wifi Back! – I have an older laptop that I one day realized was not recieving a wifi signal. After some troubleshooting, I realized that the wifi card in the laptop was malfunctioning. After some looking around, I decided to purchase this USB Wifi Adapter and have been pleased ever since. I have had zero issues with it after nearly a year. And while I’m not wishing for a wifi card to break on my other laptop, I at least know that this product will be me back online in a snap.

Did the trick – I bought an inexpensive Windows 11 laptop, it came with only a slow 2.4ghz network card, very slow speed, 15Mbps. I plugged this in and it was recognized immediately. I disabled the original network card and I was now seeing speeds of 150Mbps as I was now connected to 5ghz channel. Even the 2.4ghz channel showed improved speed, about 35Mbps, but the real desire is to connect to the faster 5ghz channel if close enough to your router. If you need more speed buy a network card with a higher “AC” rating, but for me this was fast enough for my purpose and price was right.

Win 10 drivers load slow – I have these installed on 6 machines in my house, and for the most part I am quite satisfied with them. Except when I need a reboot. I don’t know why, but it takes Windows 10 forever to load the PnP drivers with these devices. It’s on every computer, and I never had this issue using my old, slower 2.4Ghz dongle adapters from TP-Link.

I saved my old HP gaming laptop… – I have an old HP gaming laptop that is about 8 years old. Apparently, the wifi card had gone bad, and it was not only causing me to frequently lose my Internet connection, but the hardware problems from the wifi card were causing my computer to lock up and crash. I saw this TP-Link ‘Nano’ USB wifi adapter for about $13, and thought I would give it a try before chucking the laptop into the trash. All I had to do was plug it into a USB port, disable my existing wifi card, and this new USB wifi adapter worked like a charm. This laptop now has a stable wifi and Internet connection, and the daily crashes of my laptop have stopped. This TP-Link wifi adapter has given new life to this old computer.

Works like a champ – My coworker’s old HP laptop was giving fits, disconnecting from work wi-fi and refusing to reconnect before disappearing altogether, forcing to use wired ethernet. I bought this to plug in to see if it will do the trick.
