Use with USB 2.0, not 3.0! – I got this today and immediately plugged it into my USB 3.0 port, excited to boost my internet speeds. However, Windows was NOT having it lol. So I tried my second USB 3.0 port, same thing. Windows didn’t recognize/device malfunctioned. I tried a few different troubleshoots. Nothing. I plugged it into my USB 2.0 port and boom, connected instantly. So while this is marketed as a 3.0 plug, I would recommend trying it in 2.0 if you run into any issues.

No Drivers needed for a Win10 machine – My main concern was drivers for this thing. If I have a client PC that has a bad NIC, HOW am I going to get the USB NIC to work if it needs drivers from the internet?? So I bought this, disabled my onboard NIC and voila, it worked! Good to have in an IT Toolbag or a network lab.

Works Great with 8th Gen F-150 with Carplay Upgrade – Using this with a 8th gen F-150 with the updated carplay usb module. This will have Carplay up and running wirelessly in less than 10 seconds. It gets along pretty well with the Sync system, being able to switch back and forth easily between the 2 interfaces. Calls thus far have been clear. It appears to take over the voice command button. Before the installing the device a short press of the voice steering wheel button activated the syce voice command prompt and a long press for siri. After the install a short press will activate siri, which I prefer.

This gives my laptop greateer versatility. – I run my wifi router behind a hard wired router. This gives me the capability to run my laptop wireless when needed and hard wired if the wireless router is having issues.

    6. N. D (verified owner)

Good – Good choice, even on a bad laptop it doubled my speed.

Works as advertised – I purchased this to connect my Sony Oled to ethernet for maximum speed. The built in ethernet port is only 10/100 so that limits your speed. I connected this to my 3.0 USB port and ethernet cable and got 10 times the speed. I know it is overkill but I will never buffer. For some reason my high speed wireless was flakey one night so I switched to ethernet.

Works with Smart TV (Sony Bravia XR OLED) – To my surprise, this adapter let’s me access gigabit Ethernet on my smart TV (Sony Bravia XR A80K) over USB 3.0. Oddly enough the TP Link adapter (UE306) doesn’t work even though I believe they both share the same chipset. Speed was verified on fast.com via on-screen browser. I did not have to change any Android TV settings, it was automatically recognized by the operating system.

It does its job – I bought this for a specific purpose, unfortunately it did not work for me, it was meant to speed up my internet on my Sony A8H. However I hooked this up to my PC and it worked properly, it didn’t speed anything up but my connection it fast enough. As I said it works as it should, so there is nothing wrong with it, just didn’t work for my purpose
