Broke after 6 months. Insignia NO HELP – Purchased at Best Buy: I loved this TV at first. Nearly 6 months with perfect picture and sound quality. 4 days before the 6 month mark and the picture quits working. I call insignia for help, 1) the guy was rude and condescending while trying to fix my tv, 2) after their turn it on and off tricks didn’t work I was informed i would have to bring this TV in to Best Buy for repair as no other options were available for this size tv. I even asked about how to get a repairman out to my apartment to fix the tv. In so many words i was told tough luck because thats not how we do it. I live in NYC and am very small. I ordered this online to avoid having to carry a TV the same size as me across the city. They offered NO options to help me repair my tv other than… “You better call a friend to come help you because thats the way it is and we can’t help you otherwise.” This attitude in UNACCEPTABLE. I will NEVER buy another Insignia product EVER. And I’ll think twice before buying a product from Best Buy because apparently it will break in less that 6 months and the only way to get it repaired is to lug is back to their store. I would NEVER recommend this brand or tv to ANYONE. Unless you like carrying a near new tv halfway across the city to hopefully get it fixed by the geek squad.

Love this TV – dependable and amazing color – A friend gave this TV to me when she moved out of the country. I had never heard of this brand and after owning a Sony and Samsung, I was very skeptical of this one. However, I am extremely happy with this TV. The color is absolutely fantastic. And the TV has lasted longer than my old Samsung, which was three times the cost of this TV but only lasted about a year before the picture just gave out. I was told it was a connection problem and would cost almost as much as the TV to repair. It has so far proven to be more dependable than my last TV. I also find it easy to toggle through settings and even though my friend didn’t leave me the manual, I have been able to figure out how to adjust the picture and other settings for various uses. Has several HDMI ports in the back and I especially love that it turns itself off after a certain time of inactivity. It’s great if you fall asleep on the couch! No complaints and a really great deal at the listed Amazon prices.

Insignia 40” TV – Several years ago I bought a used Insignia DVD player. Noticed it was well built and heavy. Plus it was blue ray and could connect to the internet and played perfectly. I was so impressed that I started reading about Insignia. Found out the company is like Anker which is also Chinese that build quality products for a reasonable price. When I saw this TV at an extra low price I jumped on it. I was expecting something like a 57 Chevy…..solid and heavy. However, when it arrived I noticed it was very lite and came with the little “twig” stands that the rest of the smart TVs do. However, this TV is not smart so it can’t interact with the internet. I also noticed the TV is “narrow” like the rest of the new TVs are. I must say I was a disappointed but when I turn on the TV it talked to me…..kind of neat I guess. Then when I saw the picture I was somewhat relieved….crystal clear and sharp. I guess these new fangled TVs are good after all. Now if they would put lead weights in the TV along with a center pedestal stand I would be a happy camper!
