Works with Roku – I had to use this with my Roku, since my old TV doesn’t have Toslink. So I use this to extract the audio from the HDMI and send it to my integrated amp so I can get a higher quality sound than through the TV speakers. I did notice a slight delay in the sound though. If I have the TV sound on and the the sound from the integrated amp, there is a slight echo. It’s not enough to cause problems with syncing the video to the audio. So you can’t notice that people talking in movies doesn’t sync with the sound. I just can’t have both the TV and the integrated amp on at the same time. I have had this device for a couple of months now and so far problems. I would recommend it.

But got Replacement – Had this unit and was very happy with how it extracted sound from an HDMI source so I could us computer speakers and not have a cable running from the monitor and across my desk. Unfortunately about 4 months after I purchased it it stopped working, and although the indicator light shows there is an input and output, it doesn’t extract sound anymore. Maybe I just got a lemon, but that I expect things to keep working as promised.
