A good low-cost device, but don’t expect it to ‘restore’ records – I cleaned 25 12-inch records in my first session. By the end, the water in the basin was visibly dirty, so I knew it was effective. Bathing the disc in the solution as it spins is certainly better than running a handheld brush over the vinyl. It really helped some records, but as expected the results were not as good on some of the older, dirtier records I’ve picked up at thrift shops. For that, I suppose I’ll need an ultrasonic or vacuum type cleaner to remove the grit. I had no issues with the labels getting wet, which has been a concern raised by many.

This is a good system for cleaning vinyl – I don’t have a vacuum or hypersonic machine to clean my records. I’m sure they are better, but very expensive and take up space that I don’t have and if I’m honest, my vinyl collection is more beloved, than it is audiophile grade. I do have some early Blue Note pressings and a select few new 180g type LPs, but most of my (fairly large) collection come out of bins or from someone else’s collection and some were not especially good pressings to begin with. I just love listening to (mostly jazz) records.

Packaging issue! – I haven’t used this product. It does appear that all parts are here & intact BUT they arrived in a large cardboard box, no inner box that I’d expect from manufacturer, and no protection. Some tissue was in the box (some printed with Tiffany!) and a couple of air pouches but no wrap of any kind around any parts so they were all loose in the box. This was obviously a return! It’s a gift and this is unacceptable so I reordered, hoping for an intact item in original box. Unfortunately, that one is scheduled to arrive Dec. 27/28 so too late for Christmas! I’m hoping it will arrive early. If not, I will wrap the one I have and explain but the recipient lives an hour away so it means a trip if I want to swap them out and they will open a very tacky looking gift in the mean time. This should have been sold at a discount on the “like new without original packaging “ etc. site Amazon sometimes offers, NOT as a full priced new item. Very disappointing.

However, this unit does a great job and makes a sonic difference in your record collection. Effective and affordable record cleaner. – Does the job and does it well. Get yourself some distilled water so you’re ready to clean your collection when it arrives. It says you can use tap if necessary, but recommends distilled water. Some disposable rubber gloves are nice to have on hand too. (See what I did there?) Gloves make it easy to handle the record without getting any prints on it after a fresh bath Plenty of cleaner included to get started. The two included towels should be washed before first use. It plumps them up. Having a drying rack is helpful too.

INSTANT GRATIFICATION – 1st cleaning alone was worth the purchase – I’ve tried a number of other vinyl cleaning methods and so far, this one has given me the best result and is hands down the easiest. 3 turns one way and 3 the other made a number of my nosier records a pleasure to spin again. My cleaning level needed was medium at best, and I’d imagine for deep cleaning I’ll just repeat the steps. If you want an affordable, effective vinyl cleaning set up – look no further.
